Horary astrology:Rules and reading

Horary erects a chart for a defined question at a particular time and place. Houses and rulers represent the querent and matter, rather than natal personality. Current topics are the querent’s relationship, partnership, career and possessions.

Foundations and calculation

Confirm submission time or an explicit local time, timezone and location. The method uses the tropical zodiac, Regiomontanus houses and seven traditional planets. Read the ascendant ruler and topic-house ruler. Basic dignity, directional reception and dynamic contacts remain separate facts.

Worked example

For a career question, start with rulers of houses one and ten. An approaching angle still needs an exact contact before a sign change or station. The search stops at either ruler’s first boundary or 30 days; the Moon’s sequence stops at its sign exit. Proximity alone is insufficient.

Reading and judgment

Read roles before placements, dignities, reception and contacts. Reception has a direction: one planet receiving another is not the reverse relationship. Tie each interpretive statement back to a saved chart field.

Common mistakes

Reception does not prove another person’s feelings, and an aspect does not guarantee an event. Full translation, collection, prohibition, frustration and turned-house judgments are not computed. Missing fields are not evidence that no obstacle exists.
